And JMS has many other great WW stories.
WW was ruined when she killed Max and then the AA(ugh) I continue to read it always having faith that WW has many for years ahead of Her.
Daniel Boyd, Jr.Daniel Boyd, Jr.http://dbjr68@gotricounty.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6392489189136721402.post-42647582897465911732010-07-02T14:13:39.801+01:002010-07-02T14:13:39.801+01:00I was quite interested to re-read the book to make...I was quite interested to re-read the book to make sure the "separation of the genders" bias that I'd read the first time was actually there.

It's a shame when such persists so sharply in the WW book at this point. People wonder why WW doesn't sell? I think this is one of the prime culprits.

What's even more confusing is the way the Amazons—usually positive symbols of womankind—are demeaned to the point of becoming a bald, silent, burqa-wearing statue-nation in this alternate history. And I agree, Wonder Woman is generi-fied (and Bati-fied), which is something she should never have to endure.

Still, the next ish could turn it all around. I'm under contractual obligation always to read Wonder Woman, good or scathingly awful, so I'll still be buying.

"...while apparently having a pee..." Snort!

The funniest lines in the book were, "Diana is far too undervalued by this world. This must change." This after a series of short stories showing us that Diana is hero-worshipped by all, which means there's really no need for change. Right?

OMG, they really called this "Couture Shock"? (checking) They did. I didn't notice. How demeaning!

Trying to keep an open mind, but what they've tossed at us so far has not had much positive to it.Carol A. I haven’t read WW for a while, this story could be a good starting point again for me but I’m not sure about this direction – angsty Diana is okay, if part of a time-limited plot that resolves, but I love her origin story with the clay and the games and everything and I love the idea of her being this ‘foreigner’ who is recognised by the U.N. etc. I quite like the new costume though, it’s certainly still sexy but not so blatantly unrealistic and it’s a bit reminiscent of the 1968 Emma Peel style Diana Prince – you know that famous image where she’s painting out her old selves, in a tunic? If they’re bringing her back to the real world somewhat, then I’d like to see her actually engage with feminist issues again, god knows girls need a role model who isn’t a WAG.Andreanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6392489189136721402.post-21185751302961089482010-07-02T05:13:45.720+01:002010-07-02T05:13:45.720+01:00When you get a totally radical version of characte...When you get a totally radical version of character, sometimes it creates a greater love for the original. I have no problem with the change because like AzBats or Electric Supes, these usually tend to be temporary changes.marvelboy74http://twitter.com/marvelboy74noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6392489189136721402.post-68519201040290845752010-07-02T02:12:16.270+01:002010-07-02T02:12:16.270+01:00Cheers, you're a gent!Cheers, you're a gent!Martin Grayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09574149543260175962noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6392489189136721402.post-87313005000329861872010-07-02T02:11:03.642+01:002010-07-02T02:11:03.642+01:00Great fun read Mart.
