Excellent work.

I've found a fair few of the new DC books are longer reads than usual, more dense. This makes me happy.

Thanks for stopping by, Mikel - congratulations on the DC exclusive!Martin Grayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09574149543260175962noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6392489189136721402.post-70157390368255209772011-09-29T21:50:34.701+01:002011-09-29T21:50:34.701+01:00Thanks a lot for your kind words! As you say, from the narration right on the first page from Madame Xanadu to the scenes in which Supes and the standard Justice League confront the monstrous entity in the big splash page to the final scene that Xanadu sees, I thought pretty much everything was amazing about this comic.

I don't know much about the individual characters or their particular powers but that didn't matter. I was just totally drawn into this comic - more so than pretty much any other New 52 comic. It took me longer to read than many of the other comics too. Some of the comics I've tried (and will not be going back to) took relatively little time for me to get through, whereas with JLD I found myself lingering on the art and soaking it all up - the art is suitably moody and atmospheric. I would happily recommend this title to friends who don't 'do' superhero comics but who might be interested in horror films, for example.

I had high expectations from this comic when I saw previews of it online and I was not disappointed. Oh, I should stop because I could carry on about this comic for far too long.

I hope it does very, very well.Rob Yhttp://www.robyeung.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6392489189136721402.post-61202971278352391372011-09-29T09:38:33.578+01:002011-09-29T09:38:33.578+01:00Where did Mikel Janin come from? Since I don't buy issues online and my comic store only gets stuff if you order 2 months in advance, I have to rely on that store. Sad really.Information Geekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15397150034120296016noreply@blogger.com
